Did you know that forget me not flowers represent true love? Giving someone this flower means you truly love and respect this person. It is a testament to your relationship and promises your loved one that you will never forget them in your daily thoughts.
Forget me not flowers represent a promise I made to my mother when she was diagnosed with Dementia. We lost her in April of 2019, and through that experience, I have a new definition of life and what it means to live your best life.
I recognized my desire and discovered my passion was to work with seniors dealing with the daily challenges of dementia. I wanted to provide them with purpose, assure they maintain their dignity and independence, to greatly enhance their quality of life and to put an everlasting smile on their faces. I then made the decision to leave the corporate world and change my career path. I returned to school at St. Charles Community College where I enrolled in the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program and became an Occupational Therapy Practitioner, COTA/L.
I would not have been able to pursue my dream of opening Forget Me Not Adult Day Services, LLC without the continuous love and support of Dan Schell along with my family and friends. My mother has always been my inspiration in life and with that being said, I would like to honor her by naming our monthly Newsletter after her, Andrea’s Corner. She taught me that communication is key and to love with all of your heart. She also taught me the power of music. Her legacy will continue to live on with us each and every day, here at, Forget Me Not Adult Day Services.
Our program allows your loved one to live their “best life” in the comfort of a safe and healthy environment while providing respite care for caregivers, enabling you to take a much-needed break from the daily demands of caregiving.
